Working with the Body's Information and Energy Systems to Promote Health and Well-being

Our bodies are made up of energy and information systems that communicate with each other to sustain life and maintain homeostasis (balance of body functions). When there is inadequate energy, (for example, poor nerve conduction, inadequate blood flow or insufficient nutrition) the body does not function optimally. From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, insufficient or blocked qi (life force) can lead to poor health and disease. Different cultures have varying perspectives on the definition and use of energy in health and wellness, but the general term that we can use for the application of energy principles to support biological functioning is 'bioenergetics'.

Modern physics speaks to the vibratory nature of energy in terms of frequencies and wavelengths. Some frequencies of sound and light are perceptible to us (such as the visual light spectrum of red to violet). Other frequencies are above or below our direct perceptual abilities to see or hear (such as ultraviolet light or very high pitched sounds). Western medicine has harnessed some of what we know about the electromagnetic frequency spectrum to aid in diagnosis and treatment; for example, the use of X-rays, MRI and radiation.

Modalities in physical therapy and rehabilitation also utilize the energy properties of sound, light and heat to support healing process (for example ultrasound, infrared light therapy, and electrical stimulation). We are able to monitor electrophysiological processes (vibratory waveforms) from the heart, brain and muscles (ECG, EEG and EMG respectively). When patients become consciously aware of this energy information through what is called 'biofeedback' they can often make positive changes in the functioning of their body and ultimately improve their health status. Nutri-Energetic Systems (NES)*

NES represents a new approach to health care that integrates research from the fields of bio-physics, mathematics, quantum physics, acupuncture and Western and Chinese medicine. The result is the development of a clinical system for restoring health through the correction of the human body-field. The body-field might be thought of as something similar to a blueprint or holographic map that helps guide the processes in the body. The story behind the development of NES is a shared in the book, Decoding the Human Body-Field: The New Science of Information as Medicine.

NES offers a number of tools to assess and address the bio-field. NES Provision software is used to scan the body field to help identify information imbalances that may be contributing to a lack of well-being. Once the high priority areas of the body field have been identified, NES 'infoceuticals' may be recommended to bring harmony back to the bio-field.

Another NES instrument, called miHealth, is a handheld bioelectric devise that sends information from what is considered to be the optimal human bio-field into the body. The instrument 'listens' to responses from each physiological system. It then sends very mild electrical signals to appropriate areas to support improved function. Theoretically, the miHealth works to re-educate the bio-field, rejuvenate energy flow and support the body's innate healing ability.

*NES services are available only as a complement to conventional healthcare, not as an alternative. Please consult with your physician for treatment of any significant health issues.

BodyTalk System

The BodyTalk system is designed to harmonize the energy networks and optimize the overall balance of the body. The system works by first identifying the weakened energy circuits within the body. The practitioner relies on the body's inherent knowledge of itself to locate the energy circuits that need repair by using a form of feedback involving a subtle muscle testing technique. The BodyTalk protocol is straightforward and requires no diagnosis.

The practitioner relies on the guidance of the body's natural wisdom to not only locate the weakened lines of communication, but also to find the proper order in which they are to be addressed. Once this information is gathered, the practitioner uses their hands to tap in links between the body and the brain to bring about the changes it requires to normalize the health patterns of the body.

By working toward balance of the body biochemically, physiologically, and emotionally, while addressing belief systems and attitudes, the BodyTalk system establishes itself as a very powerful tool in the field of personal development and wellness. Because of its simplicity in implementation and its powerful effects, BodyTalk is one of the fastest-growing approaches to healthcare worldwide.

Harmonic Attunement

Based on the premise that all living organisms have a vibrational frequency, acoustic resonators, such as a tuning fork, are used to attune or align the cells and systems of the body back to their normal rhythm toward optimal health. Harmonic attunement is considered to be a form of sound therapy that relies primarily on sympathetic resonance. This term refers to the phenomena that occurs when one vibrating object influences another vibrating object, causing it to change its vibratory rate. An extreme example is a singer causing a glass to shatter. A trained practitioner utilizes the principles of harmonic attunement to support health and well-being. Vibrating impulses can be generated and travel some distance through the air or can be applied directly on the body for a very specific effect. For example, the stem of an activated tuning fork can be placed on the bones or joints to aid in the development of connective tissue and to restore movement and flexibility. A tuning fork can also be used directly on acupuncture points, serving as a tool for vibratory acupuncture or shiatsu.

Energy Psychology

Energy psychology is a mind-body approach to understanding and improving human functioning. It draws on a number of different theories and disciplines and includes the concept of bioenergetic patterns that can be accessed and addressed to enhance emotional health and well-being.
